The Batch Cafe

Today we decided to have an Early Mothers Day, I'm not sure why when Ian is poorly and He is off Sunday but there we go!

I had two appointments this afternoon, well at least I thought I had two appointments, my silly foggy brain got the days mixed up and they are infact tomorrow! The plan being to go to a new cafe called The Batch Cafe for Brunch, catch up with my mum and then head over to Bicester for my appointments. It did turn out a bit different with a trip to the hairdressers and then swiftly the phone repair shop after (Amelia and stone floors do not mix! Goodbye iphone screen and £80!), but ultimately it was a lovely day finished with One Born, a cool glass of wine and little bit of Blogging.

I feel compelled to tell you about our little visit to somewhere we had never been before but has been raved about in the community - The Batch Cafe.

We took a nice little 5 minute drive from Heyford to Bletchingdon, to the Batch Cafe which is tucked away on a beautiful country farm with chickens, pigs, and a play area as well as a couple of little other businesses. The setting is something out of a story book, rolling hills, lush spring greenery and good old country air.

Upon entering the quaint little cafe we were greeted by a rather cute sociable but calm chocolate brown lab puppy, who seemed like he was also visiting with his owners for the first time. We were immediately warmed that this cafe is Dog friendly as it means we could visit with my mum and my friend who both have dogs, bonus points already!

We were also greeted by a friendly chap with a warm smile and we popped over to our shabby chic style table with a variety of coloured chairs, Amelia immediately went for a pink painted farmhouse style chair and we cosied in while we took in the surroundings, freshly baked cakes on the counter , spring flowers and the walls tastefully decorated with original artwork, other customers chatted amongst themselves as we pondered over the menu, Amelia was kept entertained by the box with a selection of children's books, colouring books and pencils she did of course make a beeline for the Frozen colouring book which enabled us to choose from a nice varied menu.

The Cafe offered free water, a variety of sauces and sugars on the same table as the children's books which was a lovely touch.

We settled on the Campers Breakfast which had been recommended by a friend, scrambled egg for Amelia accompanied by a Babychinno, latte for Ian and an iced coffee for myself.

The service was timed nicely, we didn't wait long before colourful platefuls of food were placed infront of us by another warm friendly lady this time who went off to fetch Amelia a little fork so she could manage her eggs better.

The food was quite frankly to die for, it was fresh, hot (but not burning the roof of your mouth off hot), the eggs were perfect , I couldn't fault it at all. The fact that my often boisterous toddler who barely sits still sat quietly devouring her scrambled eggs says something, we were well and truly impressed, I sadly didn't even get any photos as I didn't even consider taking out my phone!

We were not just impressed by the food, but by the friendliness of the staff, the beautiful setting and of course the shabby chic decor which makes us all just feel well at home.

After brunch we paid the play area a quick visit, which was well equipped for children of all ages, said a quick hello to the ducks before heading off to visit mum.

There is a reason this place is raved about at toddler groups, by mums and grandparents alike, the atmosphere is perfect, anyone with a toddler knows just how difficult it can be to find somewhere where not only your child can eat well but you can leave without there of been a huge temper tantrum.

Due to the owners of The Batch making sure that children are catered for and entertained, and parents feel relaxed the experience is one we will be repeating again in the not too distant future and we would highly recommend to anyone with or without children or dogs.

Pay them a visit if good food, fantastic service and fair prices are what you enjoy. Mummies this is definitely one too visit!
